Code: Select all
How to force https/SSL on a domain
1. Install custom nginx template
cd /usr/local/vesta/data/templates/web
wget http://c.vestacp.com/0.9.8/rhel/force-https/nginx.tar.gz

3. Create new package or set force-https as nginx template in the existing package
4. Add new user and assing him package with force-https template
5. Add new domain with SSL certificate and check the result

Re: Infinite loop - using Force Https Nginx template + lets encrypt
do you use already an active page with .htaccess file on this webhosting? The force-https template normaly works well. Just try it in a blank hosting on another (sub)domain.Rhandy wrote:Hi!

Re: Infinite loop - using Force Https Nginx template + lets encrypt
Ok. After I clean all cache from browsers and delete domains and add again. Is working.
I have only one problem with one particular domain, I try to add lets encrypt, but always have one error. just with one domain.

If you use Chrome then Chrome caches the results of redirects. Using Chrome's incognito mode will clear all these so you can test correctly.Rhandy wrote:Ok. After I clean all cache from browsers and delete domains and add again. Is working.

Re: Infinite loop - using Force Https Nginx template + lets encrypt
I have tried the incognito mode, and a different browser.
but it still does the same result.
I even tried this page:
http://redirectdetective.com/
this is the result:
301 - Moved Permanently
https://webname.com/
301 - Moved Permanently
https://webname.com/
301 - Moved Permanently
https://webname.com/
Endless Redirect Loop
any ideas,
yes this is with default index.html vesta page.
is there a place in vesta where I can change the redirect ?
but it still does the same result.
