Why non-existing URL was redirected to website root/homepage?
When I tried to open non-existing URLs under my website domain, I noticed that sometimes it returns with correct "404" page, but sometimes it just was redirected to website root/homepage without any error message !
For example, here are two URLs:
and
Both are wrong/non-existing URLs . But the former one will be redirected to homepage while the latter one will return "404".
Why?
I think EACH non-existing URL SHOULD be returned with "404" error message. But why this website (built with Joomla 3.6.5) did not?
Is there anything I did wrong on my VestaCP web configurations?
Thank you.
For example, here are two URLs:
Code: Select all
http://www.angnuokeji.com/about/company_profile/
Code: Select all
http://www.angnuokeji.com/index.php?option=com_joomla&itemid=999999
