VestaCP panel up, frontend websites down

Greetings everybody,
I'm have a more or less a rare case here. I installed Vestacp 2 days ago to test google compute instances with different memory specs. Upgraded Mariadb to 10.1, everything seemed to be working fine. After a little while, the server started going down every now and then. The log show maria db as the culprit, consuming much memory and getting killed in the process.
So, I decided to take the snapshot and used it to spin up a new vm with a higher memory spec.
Afterward, Vestacp panel started working great again, but all the hosted site continued to be down.
Please, what could be the problem?
