Web domain -> cascade

Hi guys,

This is more of a curiosity than anything.

Adding a domain:

Click "Add domain"
This includes the ability to add the domain for both DNS and Mail.
Once this is done, all is good. I can now, if wanted, remove the mail domain record fine, or remove the dns domain record fine, however, if I decide to remove the web domain record, all 3 records vanish. (Oh dear).

I stumbled on this when I added a web domain, then populated the DNS records (over 40 records), and mail records (about 10), then realised this domain didn't require a website, only dns and mail hosting.

Testing this in the reverse, adding a DNS host, then adding a Web domain, produces the same result. Removing a Web domain will automatically remove a DNS and mail domain of the same names.

Can these items be seperated? Seems scary to think that removing a webservice from the panel, can destroy the complete DNS and mail solution along with it.

Let me know if I'm missing something with how I am trying to configure this.

This is true and in the most cases it is desirable behaviour. For now you can remove web-domain separately only in cli:

Code: Select all

v-delete-web-domain USER DOMAIN
However we will try to come with something in the future. Like a checkbox in the working message or something like that.

Thanks Skid,

The cli removal works perfect, and I didn't think to check that as I thought it might perform the same thing.

Cheers.
