Vesta Control Panel - Forum

Prior to Vesta I was using XAMPP to host my sites. I needed Vesta so I could allow other people to host their sites on my web server, and I love it so far! I just have a few questions.

-I have the options under users to edit the "default name servers". What should I make these? Since I registered my site gwiddle.org with hover, should I use the two name servers on the hover website? I am confused overall as to the purpose.
-My site gwiddle.org is already pointed to my IP, but when I access the site I simply get a "default.domain" with "powered by Vista" underneath. How can I make it show my site, and what directory on my server shoulod my site be placed? I am on Ubuntu 14.04.
-Under the web template I see "default.domain" when logged in as admin. What is this used for? What should I change it to?
-how can I start and stop Vesta, in case of server maintenance?

I just don't want my site to be down all night! I would like my admin account to be in control of my site gwiddle.org. My main goal is just to make my site work properly. Thanks for all your help!

The "default name servers" are only required if domain DNS are managed by your server. If the domain is already managed by the domain provider and already pointing to your ip, just ignore it and don't check the "DNS support" when creating a web domain with vesta.

First, on vesta, go to the web tab and use the "add web domain" function and put your domain name "gwiddle.org" with an vesta user (like admin or other). If you create it with admin, web folder is on /home/admin/web/gwiddle.org/public_html, you can use sftp or a ftp with admin user logins.

To stop vesta, you have the "services tab" on vesta web panel. You can select concerned services by maintenance and stop them. You can also use linux commands like "/etc/init.d/nginx stop" to stop the nginx web server or other.
