how to limit httpd RAM usage

Hello

I have a server with 2 xeon 5504 cpu and 8GB RAM and I have 12 sites with avrage 100 visitors per day. Now the problem is my site giving error "Unable to allocate memory for pool". I think 8GB ram is enough for all my sites and was no problem with plesk. I found on vesta control panel under services that httpd is taking too much RAM over 12000mb! so I want to limit httpd to not take this amount of RAM. Please let me know how can I limit httpd ram usage.

Thanks

What does the operating system itself show? The Control Panel RAM is almost always inaccurate, don't trust it. I run Ubuntu 14.04 and only have 1.8GB RAM used normally, with about 50 sites and hundreds of visitors.

My OS is cent os 6.5 64bit. Inaccurate reporting doesn't matter but sites going down! and an error message appearing on site header "Unable to allocate memory for pool". So I think Apache need to tune for better result.

Thanks
