Additional IP
Additional IP
Hi,
I currently have the following setup: VestaCP installed on CentoOS 6. The websites I want to host, because of their nature, need to send updates through emails to me.
I have one domain name xyz added as child-ns profile since I registered nameservers with this domain on my registrar. (ns1.xyz.com)
Everything works perfectly with one IP. I have another domain (abc) on this IP and a website. The website (abc.com) works perfectly and also sends updates to my email using localhost as an smtp mail server.
Now I want to add an IP address. So I added the IP address in Vesta. Then I tried to ping the IP but I get no response. So I did research and everywhere is written that just adding another virtual host interface ifcfg-eth0:1 - works. Vesta of course had already created this and is correct. Even ifconfig works.
So why does pinging the second IP return a timeout? What I want is to have another website using this additional IP and sending mail through this IP (and not the first one).
Thanks guys! and Vesta team keep up the good work.
