International Domains not accepted
International Domains not accepted
Hi there -
I am wondering if there is any way to register an international domain such as:
exämple.se
with special characters. This translates in the following:
xn--exmple-cua.se
however I am not able to create an account with either.
I get the following error:
Error: argument dom_alias is not valid (empty)
when trying to add them as alias or when using them as the main domain.
For example the domain:
xn--h1adrej.com = руски.com
and I wouldn't be able to register either in the hosting control panel.
Thanks for any help!

Re: International Domains not accepted
I looked at this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5898
As well as the feature list that VestaCP supports IDN.
However when I try to add an IDN (internationalized domain name) in punycode, this is what I get:

Can anyone check if they are getting the same error? I believe it might be the double '--' which is apparent in many IDN domains?

Re: International Domains not accepted
Solved. Leaving this here for anyone else that has the problem:
https://bugs.vestacp.com/responses/oshi ... -domena-rf
Apparently it's a system error with the encoding:
Rgds.

Apparently it's a system error with the encoding:
Code: Select all
locale-gen en_US.UTF-8
echo LANG = en_US.UTF-8 > /etc/default/locale
service vesta restart
