Can't connect with Thunderbird

So everytime I try to connect with thunderbird it says it failed to find the settings for your email account. I even inputted the information myself and it still won't connect :/ I like the control panel but need to be able to use thunderbird. Was using CentosWebpanel before this and it worked easily and haven't made any changes to dns from then.

i also have this problem, tried to connect via imap without sucess

Already resolved, the cp acccount user must have sh access

Well after making the user have sh access I can log in with thunderbird. However I can't send emails. I get a error that says the mail server sent an incorrect gretting :(
