All domains are showing server name in email
All domains are showing server name in email
Darn!
Server is sending mails now (exim only), but return-path and envelope both show the FQ server name instead of the domain. Why? I don't see it and running out of time.. Any help is appreciated. What's setting the actual return path? Thanks!!

Re: All domains are showing server name in email
return path is your server's FQDN which you supplied to VestaCP at the install screen. Thats what is picked up by EXIM as an identity to send mails.
Return Path is a complex thing... you will need to read alot about feedback loops to fully understand this.
I don't quite get what you mean to ask here... if you can elaborate a bit what concerns you. Why? I don't see it and running out of time.. Any help is appreciated.

Re: All domains are showing server name in email
mehargags, thanks for both of your replies.
Return-Path "parameter" to be specific is easy, say <[email protected]> (user@domain) however, a fresh install of Vesta (without apache, dovecot and mail-tools) produces <[email protected]> (account@server), which is wrong.
I do have intimate knowledge of the mail system en gro and even made multi-TLS setup work on the old server, however, I don't see why the Vesta-Exim template is not working correctly SO that's where the question is coming from. Where exactly is the return path set? It seems to be coming from the mail-domain in vCP and parsed through the template.
It does work correctly when using roundcube and reaches google even without spam warning, the mail() command does not get delivered at all - the domain keys don't match, spf fails (of course)
Any Ideas?
Thanks-a-lot
Martin.
