HI,

I want to install vestacp to work as an external mail server, for a domain.

The domain has hosting in different place and the DNS for it is managed from there.

What I want is to make the vestacp works as the mail server for that domain. So that they can send and receive emails using vestacp with the name of their domain.

Please help me doing that by giving me the instructions.

Thanks

Good day!

Yes, if I correctly understand you, it is possible.

The only settings that you need to do:
1. set VestaCP hostname (let's say it has IP xx.yy.zz.aa) to something like aaaaa.companyname.com
2. ask your hosting or provider to make PTR record for IP xx.yy.zz.aa to look like aaaaa.companyname.com
3. Add MX record for companyname.com domain where DNS records are stored. The MX record must point to aaaaa.companyname.com

It's all.

Of course, you will need also set the SPF, DKIM and so on records, but it is advanced configuration (i.e. - optional, but very recomended to set up), and the 3 steps above ARE NECESSARY.
