Dovecot Yum Update
Dovecot Yum Update
Hello guys,
Coming off a demoralizing 2 wks trying to repair a broken exim server. I finally swallowed my pride and uninstalled major vestacp components to prepare for a fresh vestcp install. Everything running smooth again..
on Centos 6.9 64bit
My question is my cityfan repo is screaming for a dovecot update. Im trying to avoid disabling that repo. Should I take the update. Im too demoralized to to break the email server again. Its running so well and passing email scores fairly well.
Another question about the suggested vestacp remi repo. I disabled this because remi seams a little chaotic for me. Is this the recommended repo to maintain the vestacp components?
Thx in advance for advice

Re: Dovecot Yum Update
Thx gcube,
I acted before I saw your reply. What I did was backup vestacp's orginal conifgs /etc/dovecot
took the repo update which took dovecot from 2.09 to 2.2.31
sure enough it broke it cause of the new configs..
Rather than patching the new configs I deleted the new /etc/dovecot configs and uploaded the backup original vesta made configs and now its running perfect again and reporting version 2.2.31
I have to say at first it did report a weird version number 0.9 till I flushed yum repos and rebooted.
So far so good..
