Catchall /dev/null

I want to blackhole the catchall address and it is showing /dev/null. However it appears to delete the message but is also bouncing to original sender as an "unroutable address".

In my understanding this is less desirable than receiving the mail and silently deleting it without any server response to sender.I do not want to send the bounce.

Is this possible? Help.
