connection to imapi server failed
I cannot log into my emails any more. Outlook simply throws a failed connection the built in roundcube mail gives an error saying that "connection to imapi server failed" this seems to be after a full update of vestaCP.
Re: connection to imapi server failed
Maybe your imap is off

service dovecot status

Re: connection to imapi server failed
no the config file needed editing as after an update (the thing that fixes errors and makes things better) it was wrong and missing the famous email=yes or whatever it is. I think cPanel addressed this years ago and I am now using cPanel, since the update the antiviruses don't work etc that is the one built into vesta, this is a joke....... vesta is offered for "free" and with what paid support costs to fix their own mess I can just pay the monthly plan for cPanel and a least just turn problems of their own making over to them to sort out....
Re: connection to imapi server failed
Thunderchild, sad to hear, but it's users choice - paid CPanel or free opensource project. It's up to you.

Re: connection to imapi server failed
The problem is I don't have the technical knowledge to run vesta and if I am going to pay for support I might as well have the more functional control panel as well. I'm not sure all of the people I give hosting to would hack vesta either although I usually manage the accounts anyway.

Hahaa...
I started to build my own VPS for hosting business. I did all myself.
My 1st best impression was stucked with VESTACP & till now i cant move'off from VESTACP. Its damn perfect for me.
Yes i faced lot of issues to make the vestacp to customize into my flavour. And now im being friend of it.
My suggestion to you,
1. Try to use a DROPLET VPS
2. It will do a daily backup for you
3. Any customizations/issues do it on a cloned VPS & implement on your live VPS.
4. So you will start to learn for anything
5. Dont rely on paid versions only - then you will being dump & you have to keep paying to them whole life.
