SMTP Auth Required
SMTP Auth Required
Hi,
I understand that this ACL rule causes the "550 smtp auth required" error message and that the fix is to properly configure the clients:
But in my situation I have multiple domains on the same host that need to be able to email each other via Roundcube, not a desktop client. Is there a way to fix this for emails being sent internally?
I've also run into a situation where one of my Firebase apps can't send emails to domains on the same server that my domain is hosted in. Even though the email is actually being sent by Google, the from address matches a domain on the same host and the email is rejected. Here is the error:
Both 'datewithneyon.com' and 'atticusglobal.com.au' are hosted on the same server.
There must be a fix for this. Any help is appreciated.
Regards,
Trent

Code: Select all
deny message = smtp auth requried
sender_domains = +local_domains
!authenticated = *

Re: SMTP Auth Required SOLVED
Ok I understand exactly what is going on now.
I have fixed the issue with my Firebase app by adding the SMTP server settings into Firebase itself.
The issue with the domains on the same host not being able to email each other is due to not having the IP Address of my separate email server with Roundcube installed included in the 'relay_from_hosts' setting in exim on my other servers that host the domains.
