can receive email but can't send

So I can receive email over pop, but when i use the smtp to send mail it's telling me Temporary local problem. I have checked the logs and the only thing exim4 tells me is in the rejectlog

Code: Select all

failed to open /etc/exim4/domains/mydomain.com/aliases for linear search: Permission denied

surely you this failing by the owner of file path / etc/exim4/domains/mydomain.com /

should be as follows:

Debian-exim mail 0 may 6 12:35 aliases
Debian-exim mail 0 may 6 12:35 antispam
Debian-exim mail 0 may 6 12:35 antivirus
Debian-exim mail 887 may 6 12:35 dkim.pem
Debian-exim mail 0 may 6 12:35 fwd_only
dovecot mail 306 may 6 12:39 passwd
