Hosted Website but Remote Mail Server
I have a Vesta server set up behind our firewall with a local IP address. External traffic is routed to it via a port forward from the firewall. It is hosting the website for our domain but the email is hosted by a server elsewhere on the Internet.
I set up the domain on Vesta without ticking the "Mail Support" box while adding the domain. I have the external IP address of the domain added to the /etc/hosts file.
When the system tries to send email (via a form in a WP site) it doesn't go out and I get the following in the /var/log/exim/main.log file. It seems to be ignoring the /etc/hosts entry. (ping, etc. all read it correctly though)
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
