Exim not receiving emails unless SMTP Port is 25

I've attempted to change the SMTP port of my Exim server to another port. However, as soon as I do this, Exim stops receiving emails, however it can still send.
Why should altering the SMTP port prevent emails from being received on the Vesta server?
