dev environment dns
Hi, correct me if I am wrong or I am trying to do this the wrong way.
I want to have two server, one production (mywebsite.com) one development (dev.mywebsite.com).
I want to setup an user on the dev server and then setup the website (clientwebsite.com) under the same user.
I want to be able use client.dev.mywebsite.com to show the client process on their website,
how do I access clientwebsite.com on my dev server by accessing client.dev.mywebsite.com?
or maybe I am doing this the wrong way? this is a wordpress installation.
I would like to do it this way, because then when I am done, I can simply make a backup on dev server and then do a restore on the production server.
Thank you

Re: dev environment dns
Why not just this adress to your client: dev.mywebsite.com
So, you have a dev.mywebsite.com and you have a dev site there, just send that url to your client and then he can see your work there.

Thanks for the comment,
what I did is that I setup a alias on the website i was building as the client.dev.web.com
even if I have the clientdomain.com setup, it still shows as client.dev.web.com
