Point domain to diffrent computer
Is there anyway to point a domain to a different computer on my local network?
Re: Point domain to diffrent computer
Yeah, dns (like ActiveDirectory) or local dns (like for windows /windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts)
May be you can tell more about your problem?

Re: Point domain to diffrent computer
Sorry I was really tired.
I've got Vesta running on Ubuntu, it's all set up and working perfectly.
Sitting next the the computer with Vesta, is a Mac Mini.
How can I point a domain name to the Mac Mini?
More Info:
I have port forwarding all set up and points to Vesta. Vesta's local IP is 192.168.1.126 and the Mac Mini's IP is 192.168.1.129.
How can I make so if the domain is example.xyz, it points to the Mac Mini. While everything else points to the computer with Vesta?

Or do you have static ip and have idea open your domain in local network to world internet?

Re: Point domain to diffrent computer
I have a Dell computer running Vesta, and a Mac Mini using Mamp Pro.
I have a static ip, and that point all ports to the Dell computer. I also have a Mac Mini witch is hosting a site on it.
I want to point example.xyz to the Mac Mini, while everything else is still pointing to the Dell computer.

Re: Point domain to diffrent computer
Ok, you have router? And on router you can decide, where outside request will be go in local network. Right?mahsey wrote:I have a static ip, and that point all ports to the Dell computer
