Hello Vestians,

I have this error coming all the time when processing "large" database related queries

Code: Select all

SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 2006 MySQL server has gone away
Any idea why?

Is it related to my MySQL time out ?

Thanks

in /etc/my.cnf

increase or comment wait_timeout, interactive_timeout and increase max_allowed_packet

Code: Select all

wait_timeout=90  # or comment directive
interactive_timeout=120 # or comment directive
max_allowed_packet =16M # or 32M

you should not be altering the conf files you idiots. your control panel has caused nothing but pain to our project. you should not be fucking with the defaults, they are sane already. by idiot proofing, you limit the throughput of the system.

Does this make you an idiot? If you don't like the vesta control panel then switch its not like someone is holding a gun to your head and saying use this product over others. I think vesta should take the time to idiot proof the forums disallowing idiots to comment in 2 year old threads for useless reasons. I also think they should take to time to ban members like you who come here acting like you paid to use this control panel and they owe you something, When in reality you owe the Vesta team for providing such a great product for free.

Ps. I would like to take a second to Thank the Vesta Team for this wonderful product on r3wt behalf seeing how hes to ignorant to do so.
