Shared option for IP Configuration

Hi, I'm new to Vesta Control Panel and I'm wondering what the shared option on the IP configuration panel is for.
I ask because My client is having issues with their emails getting through to Yahoo and one recommendation I've seen is to use a dedicated IP and not a shared IP.
Is this what this option does?
Pardon my seemingly naive question, just not familiar with the context of Vesta and I'm not finding documentation That can help
