VestaCP on CentOS 7

Hi guys,imperio wrote:I need to clarify this issue with the developersWould you have a timeline on that?
So what about some estimate when it is planned to happen ? Anything close ?
Re: VestaCP on CentOS 7
Imho everybody's just bitching and whining because they want the latest version. There's no reason concerning security, stability, or functionality that makes running 7 a vital must-have. CentOS 6 is stable, actively supported and EOL will be in another 6 years. The Vesta guys will obviously release their control panel for 7, give them some time for it.

Re: VestaCP on CentOS 7
Hi,
I am trying to install VestaCP on CentOS7 and I have forked the github repository and created a centos7 branch :
https://github.com/vrichomme/vesta
My modifications for now are minor since I have added epel and remi repository inside vst-install-rhel.sh :
if [ "$release" -eq '7' ]; then
epel="7/$arch/e/epel-release-7-2.noarch.rpm"
fi
if [ "$release" -eq '7' ]; then
remi="remi-release-7.rpm"
fi
then I have replaced mysql and mysql-server by mariadb-server because on centos7 the have moved to mariadb.
I will also remove webalizer because this package doesn't exist and from what I understand has been replaced by awstats
now when I try it I get the following error :
---> Package vesta-nginx.x86_64 0:0.9.8-3 will be installed
--> Processing Dependency: libpcre.so.0()(64bit) for package: vesta-nginx-0.9.8-3.x86_64
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Package: vesta-nginx-0.9.8-3.x86_64 (vesta)
Requires: libpcre.so.0()(64bit)
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
Error: yum install failed
I have checked and on my centos7 I only have libpcre.so.1 :
[root@localhost ~]# ll /lib64/libpcre*
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 18 Nov 23 16:39 /lib64/libpcre16.so.0 -> libpcre16.so.0.2.0
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 361360 Jun 10 04:08 /lib64/libpcre16.so.0.2.0
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 18 Nov 23 16:39 /lib64/libpcre32.so.0 -> libpcre32.so.0.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 344936 Jun 10 04:08 /lib64/libpcre32.so.0.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 19 Nov 23 16:39 /lib64/libpcrecpp.so.0 -> libpcrecpp.so.0.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 36408 Jun 10 04:08 /lib64/libpcrecpp.so.0.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 21 Nov 23 16:39 /lib64/libpcreposix.so.0 -> libpcreposix.so.0.0.1
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 11120 Jun 10 04:08 /lib64/libpcreposix.so.0.0.1
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 16 Nov 23 16:39 /lib64/libpcre.so.1 -> libpcre.so.1.2.0
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 398264 Jun 10 04:08 /lib64/libpcre.so.1.2.0
So now how can I go further, I suppose I need to recompile vesta-nginx sources, where can I find them ?
Thanks

Re: VestaCP on CentOS 7
Hey guys,
is there any way to help you with the CentOS 7 support?
I set up CentOS 7 because of long-term support on my server and wanted to use VestaCP.
I read in version history it would be supported, but obviously the installer isn't done yet.
I'm waiting for an update since a week now, could you provide any information on the progress?
I need to know if I should wait a little more or just use another CP.
Also is it just the installer? If thats the only thing left I could try to install it manually.
Looking forward to your answer.
