Installing SpamAssassin on VestaCP - Ubuntu 14.04 on GCE

I was having a bit of an issue installing Vesta on a fresh VM on Google Cloud Engine using Ubuntu 14.04, first ClamAV file download (main.cvd and the other ones) would take forever to complete, then the entire install would fail when trying to install SpamAssassin.

I got around this by closing the SSH session at the ClamAV download and restarting the Vesta install, the download is way faster the second time around.

Fixing the SpamAssassin install failing the entire Vesta install on the other hand took me quite a bit of time (and swearing) to find the right solution. Eventually I Google translated this post on a Russian forum, and boom. Vesta install completes without hassle.

This might not be the best way to solve it, or even the right way to solve it. I possibly did something wrong to begin with. All I know is it worked for me and hope it can help someone else if they need it.

When installing panels VestaCP on Ubuntu 14.04 was a mistake:

The problem is probably in the fact that in DC, where the server is installed, still not using ipv6.
The solution was simple, to add to the SpamAssassin configuration file in line with the options OPTIONS -4:

# nano /etc/default/spamassassin

I've got it got this:

OPTIONS = »- create-prefs -max-children 5 -helper-home-dir -4"

And continue with the installation panel VestaCP

# bash vst-install.sh --force
(updated this to the one provided on the website)

Thank you for posting this. I am wondering if anyone else has found a more effective way to solve this issue? I wonder if the install script is outdated?
