VestaCP maintenance mode/module

Post by lukeseven » Sun Apr 09, 2017 10:35 am

Hi,

I am just wondering if there is a way to quickly put all the websites or just some of them to maintenance mode vi VestaCP when doing some changes on the server or on one of the websites. I use WordPress plugins to place a particular website to the maintenance mode but some times I am making some configurations changes and in that moment I create a snapshot in order to have a chance to roll back if something goes wrong but I would like to make sure that visitors won't be able to access other websites and make posts within that time, you know.

Also I am trying to avoid installing more plugins for maintenance as most of them are in conflict with other plugins. I am looking for some really simple and quick solution to switch to maintenance mode via VestaCP if possible. Also I would like to be able to customise the maintenance pages.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated

Thanks

You can use SUSPEND button and change text from /usr/local/vesta/data/templates/web/suspend/index.html

Thanks for very quick reply but I am not sure why it doesn't work for me :(

If I suspend the user I get "Error establishing a database connection" but when I do suspend only the website it still loads up as normal. Am I missing anything ? But this would be awesome solution if I could get it working.

I was wondering if you guys could add another button/template to VestaCP called "maintenance" with a white listing IP address option, where the web could be still accessible from particular IP address only. The rest of the world would see only the maintenance page, if you know what I mean?

Looking forward to your answer

Cheers
