hi,
i usually use vesta on debian vps but i'm not feel good with systemd
so, for now [waiting for devuan.org stable], i switched to ubuntu 14.04 lts
[until 2018 without systemd i hope]
now... today i take a fresh hetzner vps with minimal ubuntu 14.04 lts and i
ssh into it curl the vst-install.sh file and execute it with parameters and i have a lot of errors.
[vestacp doesn't work good: i can't replace a backup from another vestacp and other things]

i paste here only the part with errors

then vesta script download the custom config files for web/mail services and all ok
but when apache is confifgurated:

Module ruid2 already enabled
System start/stop links for /etc/init.d/apache2 already exist.

then install vsftpd and do this error
update-rc.d: /etc/init.d/vsftpd: file does not exist

vesta looks to work good [for example the web panel] but if i want to do something
like make/restore a backup or remove a db, adding a user or something... i have error.

now i'm downloading a ubuntu 14 vagrant box to understand if the problem is the minimal image by hetzner.

i installed vestacp on a lot of debian server [not with this installer with arguments parsed in line, but the second last]
and until now no problem.

you need to become root on Ubuntu (this is a security thing with Ubuntu). The easy way to do what needs to be done:

[if you aren't you can't apt-get install packages and much other ... ]

i try with a fresh vagrant vm [vagrant init ubuntu/trusty64]
and i have the same errors.

Hmm... install with those options go just well.
(VMWare virtual machine, Ubuntu 14.04 x64)

but I'm used sudo ^_^

so... if i have a new vps with only root user i curl the install and launch it...
i have to launch it with sudo before the command???????

i finish now to install a fresh new vps with sudo before the bash vst-install.sh with parameters.

so... i'm root and i'm use sudo too.
[i was root yesterday too, btw]

i don't know what happening and why do this error....
i try with a debian wheezy and all ok
i have 8 vps debian wheezy with vestacp and no problem. never.
i have 2 vps with sftp plugin and file manager too. debian too.
no problem.

this is happening on ubuntu 14.04

i can create a script log and share with you if you want to "see with your eyes"
because i understand that this is unbelieavable... i'm going crazy with that.

Please reinstall OS and send us access to your server

ok... i see you on that....

like you i do upgrade/dist-upgrade first and then vst-install

have you launched the script with argument or without ? just to know ...
