Adding Letsencrypt SSL to domains Error

Post by xolabs » Wed Dec 07, 2016 6:24 pm

Hey guys,
Great job adding the Letsencrypt feature to VESTA. However, I am having a problem using it :(
When I select the Letsencrypt feature from the VESTA panel for the domain I want to use the SSL certificate, I get the response code 2

I've tried the "v-add-letsencrypt-domain usr domain.com" from root ssh and I get this:

Code: Select all

/usr/local/vesta/bin/v-check-letsencrypt-domain: line 100: /home/usr/web/domain.com/public_html/.well-known/acme-challenge/stAMNYbhGj-unt2kjteFnG7UVLduiMumcpuJyW56YuM.r4rgyeGozQyWJTI8YRo4TgTczkI6i2CFI0Q_IouhV00: No such file or directory
chown: cannot access ‘/home/usr/web/domain.com/public_html/.well-known’: No such file or directory
Error: Invalid response from http://domain.com/.well-known/acme-challenge/stAMNYbhGj-unt2kjteFnG7UVLduiMumcpuJyW56YuM: \
sed: can't read /usr/local/vesta/data/queue/letsencrypt.pipe: No such file or directory
Note, domain.com in the above example was redacted. The actual domain exists and works as intended.

I take it that this feature works perfectly fine for everyone, except me? :)

I was facing a quite similar problem but not exactly the same. I was getting an error about not being able to access a file at /tmp/something.

I solve this by completely disabling SSL for the domain, saved the changes and then checked again SSL and Letsencrypt and it worked.

Same error. I was struggled a lot for this letsencrypt to work. As of my issue, i went thru that url path inside my 'wellknows>acme' path, the new strings url there but additionally few letters also added into it. May be thats why the LE cant find the required url. May be im wrong.

But im using Webmin for my server management. (Note: all my domain, DNS, email etc maintained by VestaCP)
I used webmin to generate SSL for my domain. It works charm. Also i copied those ssl cert, key into my vestacp:8083 also. Works fine.

I too am having this issue. The uncheck SSL and recheck solution is not working for me. I am also encountering the same issue in the CLI.
