As the title says, the default admin user can login via SFTP but cannot upload or create files/folders in the Public_html folder, any ideas?

Thanks

First of all, admin user has sudo/root rights. So do never run any website under this user! Better create a new one, then try again with sftp. If it does not work, write again.

I installed vesta with vsftpd.

I tried in admin account, and I can upload html files, but not other files such as word doc.

So, the best practice is to migrate current sites to some other account?

What do you mean exactly? You can change the domain owner with v-change-web-domain-owner. Maybe better open a own post instead, seems to be not related.

Ok, I'll try that.

And what do you think is the problem of not being able to upload word documents? Is it highly connected with the account's privilege? Henryscat's problem did not happen in my case, mine just similar to his, so I followed his thread.

Thank you, @ScIT ,it's great! Efficient and without any un-necessary operation.

I have been doing cp under the webui, and didn't expect the cli way so cool!

So, if the webui version of vesta were suspended, and I could rely on cli ver, that would mean a big saving on resources consumed by the server?
