Sending to a different website

When I have a .htaccess script that redirects to https in my websites root/public_html, but if I have SSL support in vesta turned off for the site for some reason if I type In the domain assigned to the path with ssl not supported, it redirects to another site in my account(which is the first web address I set). Even though that site doesn't have SSL support on that site either. It's not that big of issue just set the ssl support on and all well and good. I just can't comprehend what is going on the back end, maybe someone that has a little more time invested in vesta knows why?

Also why is it when I go to http://thisdomain.com it shows the default vesta domain splash page, then when I direct to the SSL version https://thisdomain.com it shows the web content fine? I have the website content going to public_html which I think non secure http access the public_html correct? fyi I do have the SSL support pointing to the public_html.

Very confused haha maybe someone can clarify those two issue for me?

Can you remember if at some point you edited the templates or manually modified the .conf file for the domain in question?

The only thing I edited was the .htaccess which I put in a http rule so if a user typed in http it would send to https
