How to troubleshoot 500 error on all sites?

Hi I have a server with Centos 6.6 64bit. I have installed the VestaCp before 20 days, and until 2 days before everything was running great.

vesta core package Version: 0.9.8 (x86_64) Release: 12
vesta-php php interpreter Version: 0.9.7 (x86_64) Release: 3
vesta-nginx internal web server Version: 0.9.8 (x86_64) Release: 3

From yesterday I have on all of my site the pages gives Error 500 Internal Server Error
I can access ssh and the vesta Panel.
I tried to stop and start the IP tables, but with no luck. :(
http://my-ip/phpmyadmin/ gives 502 Bad Gateway
On the error logs of the sites I have the following errors:
upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client
connect() failed (110: Connection timed out) while connecting to upstream, client:

How to start to troubleshoot?
If I uninstall vestacp and install it again on the same server will work?
Can I reinstall the VestaCp over the old installation?
Thanks in advance!

Could you check whether PHP library is loaded in apache and that apache is still prefork? I had the issue that with an update of the whole system, apache gets updated to the mpm-worker module, but only mpm-prefork works with php5 lib on apache.

Hope this helps for a start :)

edit: if you can still access vestaCP, then your issue is likely related to Apache or nginx (NOT the nginx or PHP that is bundled with vestaCP), but the 'regular' one which has the config in /etc/nginx (on debian).

Hi thanks for your reply.
I couldn't fix anything for the last 2 days. So I have to re install the server from the beginning and Install Vesta Again and restore from the backups.
Everything running ok now!
Thank you

I have been able to sort this issue without understanding the root cause.
I saw that I can access my sites on port 8443 (apache), the issue occurs only when traffic transit by nginx, so I disabled and removed nginx.
you can follow this :
