backup service multi core problem
backup service multi core problem
i have the latest version of vestacp and i was watching the cpu usage when i am doing the backup and i have noticed that the gzip procces uses only one cpu core /99.9 percent of one of the cores/ and it doesnt use the rest of the cpus . my server is corei7 - 4 cores with ssd hard drive so when he use one core he limit the backup proccess because my hard drive is fast .
i was hopping if someone can help me to let gzip use all the cores like to change gzip to pigz and activate multicores or any helpfull thing that might help please.
thanks in advance

Re: backup service multi core problem
Hi
Is not a vesta issue
gzip just use one core always because not is multicore system
Vesta have some open threads to use pigz instead of gzip
You can read here about pigz https://zlib.net/pigz/ is the same gzip function but with multicore integration
In bug tracker you can vote to use pigz integration.
