Re: Permission 500 internal Error
You need to use the chmod and chown commands.
chmod 755 dirname
chmod 644 filename
chown -R username:username /home/username/web/domainname.com/public_html/*
chmod 755 dirname
chmod 644 filename
chown -R username:username /home/username/web/domainname.com/public_html/*
Re: Permission 500 internal Error
fixed my problem by disabling nginx, since cpanel using apache as a webserver.. weird..

Re: Permission 500 internal Error
Guys, I have a slightly different problem, but it's making me crazy, and I still haven't been able to identify what's causing that. I've recently decided to move my blog to the https standard. I bought an SSL certificate and turned on HHTPS rewrites, and fixed all mixed content problems. And everything worked great for a while. But then I started seeing the following errors: 502 Bad Gateway, 525 SSL handshake failed, 503 Service Unavailable. The errors appear occasionally, and then after I refresh the page they are usually gone, but sometimes they make my site unavailable for hours, which is very frustrating. Does anybody know what can cause such errors? The SSL seems to be installed correctly, so I don't really understand what can cause them.

Re: Permission 500 internal Error
when it fails, send apache error logs of that time.
Re: Permission 500 internal Error
Hi kaz050457, 500 Internal Server Error is a http status code. It mainly happened if you have made some changes on .htaccess file.
I had same issue when I moved my site http to https.
Then I fixed htaccess file. So, please check your .htaccess file.
If you still getting this error then I would suggest you to check file permision. Because It could be a file permission error.
I hope it will help you to fix your problem.
Thanks
