Enabling multiple domains on DO droplet with Vesta
Dear all.. First of all thank for the support you provide with this forum, for beginner like me is essential!
Secondly I managed to install Vesta on my DO account and run it with no apparent trouble (except for an https error from browser!). The problem is I don't know how to configure multiple domains on my Cloud server. A little help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you

You can have multiple domains on a single DO droplet. Register second dns domain and point it to the same ip address. Then just add this domain in the vesta control panel.

Re: Enabling multiple domains on DO droplet with Vesta
If I understood well I first have to configure only the A or CNAME records pointing to the different domains inside the DO control panel (of course change the dns on my domains settings pointing to ns1/ns2 digital ocean.com). But inside the vesta panel what kind of records (DNS, CNAME, A) will the different domains need to have? Can I add the domains inside the user account or have to be in the admin account? Before the dns propagation what is the temporary address for different sites?
Thank you

Re: Enabling multiple domains on DO droplet with Vesta
If you use DO as a dns server then you can skip dns setup in vesta and uncheck "DNS Support" mark.
You can add all domains to admin account or if you run different projects then it's better have a separate user for each domain.
Temporary access url is not configured by default and it's kinda complex thing. We are going to release documentation in the mid of November where you will find complete guide.

Thank you skid.. I think I'll do the right way around.. leave blank any DNS and domain name on DO and do everything within Vesta panel. Please confirm that have to add the different CNAME or A records in order to redirect the same ip address to my different domains.
Thanks again

Re: Enabling multiple domains on DO droplet with Vesta
1. You can use DO as a DNS server. In this case all you have to do is just to point "A" records to your server with vesta. This is the easiest way. But, in this case you will be managing hosting stuff in 2 places, which is kinda time consuming.
2. If you want to get rid of DO DNS, then you need to create your own dns records. Depending on your domain registrar it can be called "child dns" or "hostname servers". This way is more complicated but it's easier to maintain once it's done.

Re: Enabling multiple domains on DO droplet with Vesta
Is there any way out to test the other domain folder (Multiple domain in a single droplet) before the DNS propagates? In a Nutshell I am asking can we create or have temporary link for the newly shifted website?
Example: My site http://www.wowtop10.com is currently hosted in Bluehost and domain is registered with Godaddy. I have changed the Nameserver in Godaddy to point to digitalocean. And have configured the domain @ DO using VestaCP. So I have the separate folder where my site files are. But I am unable to test it out until the DNS propagates.
Thanks for wonderful Control Panel. Saved my whole week.

Is this already introduced? :)
Re: Enabling multiple domains on DO droplet with Vesta
I found this thing for temporary links multiple domains...
But couldn't reach any solution!
How to configure temporary links for new domains
If you are running hosting company most likely you would want to provide your customers temporary link to access their site before actuall domain propagation. This is especially useful when customer is moving site from another host and want to check if everything works as expected.
For instance, you have 2 IP addresses on a server, 192.168.3.57 and 192.168.3.58. Let's say your site is tophost.ltd. Then you need to set up 2 wildcards for each ip address. Go to the DNS menu. Click on a "add record" under the tophost.ltd domain and enter following
Record: *.alpha
Type: A
IP: 192.168.3.57
Press Add button and add second record
Record: *.beta
Type: A
IP: 192.168.3.58
The DNS part is complete. Let's assign those domains to corresponding ip addresses. Go to the IP menu. Select 192.168.3.57. Click on edit button opposite and add alpha.tophost.ltd in the "Assigned Domain" text field. Save and repeat accordingly for the 192.168.3.58 address and beta.tophost.ltd domain.
Now when your user add new domain it will automatically get tophost alias. If he added bbc.com on a 192.168.3.57 then he will be able to see his domain by opening http://bbc-com.alpha.tophost.ltd As you can see dots in original domain has been replaced with dashes.
