Exim4.conf.template does nothing
I haven’t screwed around with VESTACp enough to have broken it.So I know I’m not the problem.
So, what’s the purpose of /etc/exim4/exim4.template??? Changes to it do nothing and if I do Exim -d it shows /etc/exim4.conf as the config file. Am I missing something? I’m on the newest version of Vesta and Debian8.
Thanks

Oops, I forgot to add that I use the monolithic configuration.

Re: Exim4.conf.template does nothing
Really! nobody out there has anything to add to this to help me out. I'm kinda confused as to why the /etc/exim4/exim.conf.template does nothing on my system and why I have to make changes to exim4.conf instead. Is this a bug that I need to report or is something misconfigured in my system. If something is misconfigured, how do I get it back to using exim4.conf.template. I've tried dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config and it did not change anything. A little help please :-)
Re: Exim4.conf.template does nothing
First I ask this: Are you an introductory user to Unix? With the question of why is there a template file, demonstrates intro knowledge. The template is that a template to build if you did it or if the install for EXIM did it uses to build the exim.conf file. It is there as a basic framework for the exim.conf file. Only times it should be used it should be used is installing EXIM, Updating it or the exim.conf file has become corrupt. I believe you see the point now. If you work with wordpress, it is similar to the wp-config.sample file.baxterdmutt wrote: ↑Sun Aug 05, 2018 6:43 pmReally! nobody out there has anything to add to this to help me out. I do hope that answers your question, and also please understand this is a free tool - Vestacp, they could be like other companies and charge for the free support or other things given on this forum.
