digitalocean setup
Hi, i am being forced to change cloud hosting provider as current one is moving to high end expensive only service, my search for new host has lead me to digitalocean.
Any tips and advice on droplet configuration and installing, using vestacp on digitalocean?
thanks

Re: digitalocean setup
Nothin special to choose, just the os you want to have (like debian/ubuntu os more than centos) and the size you need. I also like the provider hetzner.de, has a good vps service.
Re: digitalocean setup
I always suggest to use you preferred linux server and where you are comfortable with.
I for instance use centos for many years. Some commands are different from ubuntu. That is why I chose centos over ubuntu
But that does not mean one is better than the other.
Get at least 2gb of ram. If you opt for 512-1gb, Turn off or do not install the clamd anti virus

Re: digitalocean setup
Hi, thanks for the heads up on hetzner, i am trying out a server now.
One question which i can't seem to find the answer to:
I am using vestacp and primary domain as main nameserver for all domains on current server, i have it all setup on the primary domain registrar and it works fine.
How do set this up with the hetzner dns section, they say in docs that if i run own nameserver it needs to be registered?
thanks
Re: digitalocean setup
I use hetzner cloud and I'm satisfied from work, it's better and cheaper than digitalocean.
