Re-install (over existing vestacp)
Re-install (over existing vestacp)
I have vestacp installed but I wanted to ask before trying and breaking anything can I re run the installed to install vestacp again?
Few things on my setup seem to behaving strangely so wanted to see if a reinstall over an existing vestacp install will work and retain domains etc.
If anyone is wondering I get odd issues with HTTPS and /webmail/ doesn't work but I wanted to try reinstalling before going into specifics.

Re: Re-install (over existing vestacp)
Hello,
If you mean reinstall system then you are wrong. All information will be erased from hard disk. If you would like override current VestaCP installation - it is also not recommended and in most case does not help you with your current problem.
Just sound what problem you are and forum members will happy help you.

Re: Re-install (over existing vestacp)
I agree, while it should be possible to force a reinstall it probably wont help addressing your problems, as they maybe not directly related to your install. you may loose your whole settings and would need to restore from backups (do take backups!!)
if you messed up configuration files by hand have a look into the installer-script itself and download those from vesta to overwrite. if you have special problems post it here. issues with webmail aren't so uncommen esp. after updating roundcube-packages and such.
and your strange https behaviour has probably been discussed earlier, if I'd have to make a guess I'd say it will be something like seeing wrong certificate or getting redirected to the wrong ssl-domain... ;-)

Re: Re-install (over existing vestacp)
Reinstall it's not good idea.
Clear install - better way.
But if you have some troubles, I think it's be nice to know and fix those?

Re: Re-install (over existing vestacp)
Do Uninstall and then once again install it.
Re: Re-install (over existing vestacp)
Thanks for the advice guys I will see about spinning up another VM and doing a clean install on that and moving domains over gradually, is there by any chance a migration script anyone knows of?
