User problem after uninstall / reinstall of VestaCP

Post by mericson » Sun Sep 23, 2018 1:44 am

I followed the instructions in VestaCP documentation to uninstall, and then I reinstalled VestaCP. After reinstall, I see a user I created in the web interface. I got a strange error when trying to add an IP address that the user does not exist, even though I wasn't trying to associate the IP with a user or domain.

So I thought I would go to the users and delete and recreate the user. I get the same error when I attempt to delete the user " Error: user foo doesn't exist" I'm not sure what the problem is as the user shows up in the web UI, and it also still exists as a linux user.

I did finally discover that the v-list-users show the user but there is no information for that user's line; no PKG and no counts for the services nor is there a date listed for the user.

So, how do I restore or recreate this user when I'm in this state?

I tried this again and things work fine if I also delete the linux users that were created within VestaCP before reinstall of VestaCP.

ANyone know what residual VestaCP information is causing VestaCP to assume those users still belong to it after reinstall?
