Hi, I notice if I don't install mysql, the webmail doesn't work, and so I'm assuming that vestacp uses a local installation of mysql for its mails somewhere.

I'm looking into have all the sql / database related stuff on amazon's rds that vestacp uses (not just for webmail, but for all the database-related stuffs vestacp need), but don't know where to give vestacp the db connection details during installation.

the advanced install settings located at: https://vestacp.com/install/ does not provide the option to enter database host, username, and password.

edit: i need this because i'm looking into eventually having a server with aws load balancer and don't want each instance to have its own vestacp mysql database within that instance. each load balance instance should connect to the single database in aws rds. i'm still a noob in all of these.

please help. thanks.

hello,

the link isn't clear, it says it is assumed we already have a 2nd server? it then gives a command for the first server, but doesn't say what the 2nd server is for after that though.

and what happens to the original content of the vestacp database when i run the command: v-add-database-host mysql new-server.com root password ?

thank you.
