Hello,

I have two domains and I need them to point to just one site:

mydomain.com
mydomain.com.mx (I need this one to point to the above domain)

mydomain.com holds the full site and I need all the visitors to mydomain.com.mx gets redirected to mydomain.com

mydomain.com it's up and running with it's own nameservers:
ns1.mydomain.com
ns2.mydomain.com

So here are my questions:

+ How to setup mydomain.com.mx to point to mydomain.com ?
+ Should I use the same nameservers (ns1, ns2.mydomain.com) for both domains ?
+ Should I add a website for mydomain.com.mx ?
+ Any additional setting needed ?

Website, email and all the content must be handled through mydomain.com...

Regards...

Hi there,

Pretty simple though.
First, you must use same NS records for both domains.
Second go to VestaCP --> Web --> Edit mydomain.com --> Under Aliases type mydomain.com.mx and www.mydomain.com.mx one per line, save your settings and wait up to 72 hours for the NS records to be propagated over the internet, usually in a couple of minutes/hours should work.
Regards,

An Easier and a better recommended way would be to use DOMAIN Forwarding at the registrar level. Since these are two different TLDs, open your Domain Registrar panel from where you bought these, goto mydomain.com.mx and FORWARD it to mydomain.com

This way you actually don't have to do anything at VestaCP or Server level.

you can create domain aliases for email... and registrar supports MX forwarding also which resolves your mail issues.
