nginx and the nightmare - please help

I love vestaCP because of its simplicity.
no doubt vesta cp is one of the best free control panel.

I am using vestaCP to host static HTML pages. but I am having so much problem with nginx.
it kept showing the default page for vestaCP (website name and powered by vesta CP that page).

whatever file I upload on FTP nothing shows up. I disabled nginx from vestaCP control panel.
I cleared my browser cache.
I added sendfile off on nginx.conf file and EnableSendfile off on httpd.conf file.

still the same. none of the recently uploaded file will show in the browser.
I spent last couple of sleepless night by Googling and trying out all kind of solutions suggested on forums. but nothing helped.still I kept getting the same vestaCP default page.

Please help.

I suspect the problem is you, not nginx

If you want help, then submit a clear description of the problem you're having (what you were doing, what you expected to happen, what actually happened), preferably accompanied by log files. Calling nginx a nightmare and posting "I am having so much problem with nginx" generates only aggravation.

A default VestaCP install is pretty solid, and serving static pages is the most simple of all things a web server can do. Virtually nothing can go wrong with that. Since it was showing the default vesta page all was working fine. No need at all to screw up nginx and apache config files there. So for now I'd love to hear what directory you uploaded your files to through FTP and wether or not you've removed or overwritten the default index.html in that folder.

Hell, if you give me temporary ssh access (PM me) I'll even be more than happy to take a look during my coffee break and see if I can solve your issue.

Hi
I apologies for being rude. I figured it out.

by mistake I uploaded all the files to public_shtml folder.

its very hard to distinguise between public_shtml and public_html folder.
only one letter difference, why do we have public_shtml folder with vesta CP?
I haven't noticed public_shtml folder with any other CP.

No problem. I'm happy for you that you found out what caused it.

The public_shtml folder is used for SSL.
