Unable to send email with thunderbird or Outlook
  • Quote

Post by thekreek » Tue Feb 18, 2014 8:17 am

I'm unable to send emails with a desktop email client (thunderbird or outlook) but I can download the email from the mail box with the desktop client. I already double check the setup on Thunderbird and it's ok.

The error I keep receiving it's the following one:
An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Helo name contains a ip address (HELO was [192.168.1.50]) and not is valid. Please verify that your email address is correct in your mail preferences and try again.

The same error appears on the exim log.

My current setup is the following:
Debian 7
Regular vestacp install
CSF

I have disabled CSF in order to find out if its a problem with it and I still get the same error.

Does any body know a possible fix.

It looks like your IP address is blacklisted by DSNBL. You can check it here
If it was blacklisted indeed then there are 2 options:
1. whiltelist it by adding ip to /etc/exim/white-blocks.conf
2. disable dsnbl by removing lines from /etc/exim/dnsbl.conf

After a long work with Debian 7, I had to change the direction of my activity a bit, which of course led to changes in the os (I started using Windows 7 for 64 bits) and even changing the tools and software what I used for work before.
In fact, I had to start all over again and get used to it for a long time, but unchanged one thing I still needed my mail data, and fortunately,
I had the opportunity use thunderbird to outlook transfer get redirected for that. And more recently white list was exactly useful to me by the way, now, in general, my mail is in order, problems with an account have receded,
I guess forever ...

If you are unable to send your emails with Thunderbird to Outlook for Mac, then you can try the Thunderbird to Outlook for Mac. The software can easily transfer your unlimited files at the same time, without any error and without losing your valuable data. The advanced software is easy to use, you can easily operate the software after operating 3-4 steps, You don't need to learn any kind of technical knowledge for operating the software.

Check your Outgoing mail port and address. If it is correctly filled then have to re-create a new profile. Another solution is to use MailsDaddy Thunderbird to Outlook converter tool and migrate Thunderbird emails into any other file format.
