Changed System IP

Post by eliashall » Fri Sep 26, 2014 11:49 pm

Hi, I migrated a bunch of sites from an old webserver to a brand new VestaCP server.
I tested all the sites internally and then when it was time to go live, I changed the system IP to replace the old Server.
this caused all sorts of issues. I have slowly resolved everything, adding the new IP to VestaCP, re-allocating all the sites to the new IP and then testing again.
everything appears to be working, but the OLD IP cannot be removed from the VestaCP console. I get an error "Error: $U_WEB_DOMAINS is not empty = 8"
I edited all the sites to be on the new IP so there should be no domains left on the OLD IP.

I happened to migrate vestacp and i did not get this error. As long as you do not have any domains still on the old ip, you should be able to delete it.

Sometimes, you might want to do a

Code: Select all

 service vesta restart
to make sure that no processors are stuck etc.

I'm getting the same error after migration to new server and changing to new IP
Besides of not able to delete, are you able to run all your websites?
And: service vista restart did not help with errors, when trying to delete IP

For some strange reason vestacp is thinking there is 8 domains?? why?

EDIT 1: PROBLEM SOLVED
This script will take care of your problem
Moving to new IP is actually requires a lot more steps and this script will help you with that
