Domain pulls information from another?
  • Quote

Post by SoloDragoon » Sat Feb 28, 2015 4:39 pm

So there are a few domains on the box I have vesta on, which in turn work just fine running under the same NS.

Now here is my problem - I went ahead and added a new domain. Changed the NS servers on godaddy to point to the box. Points just fine. But when I try to load /index.php it loads the NS index.php file. But if I load /index.html it loads from the domain (new domain) just fine.

To add to this - the index.php contains a simple string. Nothing more. The .htaccess file contains only the rules to force www.

Thanks for any help.

Ok i'll try to break this down.

1. Created new domain and DNS records in VestaCP.
2. Log into my godaddy account - manage the domain to point at the name server.
3. Domain is now pointed at the server.
4. Go to load the webpage, instead of getting the page thats in that files directory - I get a completely different domains index file.

I went ahead and checked over everything again - and scanned the .conf files everything seems to be in order. All the other domains share the same logic, and work just fine.

And you put IP address in browser or domain name?

PS: Scary to suggest - browser cache?

Domain.

I thought it may have been browser cache - and tried it on other devices, same result.

Did you do this part?
Vesta Control Panel
Once the private nameservers registration is complete, you need to configure Vesta Control Panel.
1. Add domain yourdomain.com (leave DNS Support mark checked)
2. Go to DNS menu
3. Click on edit under yourdomain.com
4. Change template to child-ns
5. Go to Packages menu
6. Edit package called default
7. Set ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com as nameservers
