Help with ip configuration

Post by ForestStar » Tue Feb 24, 2015 6:53 am

Hello i have just started using Vestacp and so far i love it.
But i am not shure how to add ip adresses correctly?

To start with my isp uses internal ip adresses DHCP that translates in to external, so it can be resolved on the internet.
When i installed vestacp my server used internal ip 10.1.1.140 and external associated server ip as 82.221.160.120, however when vesta install was complete the installer ask me to login at 82.221.160.180:8083 and that ip adress is not the same that is associated with my account, and it is not in use by me!

So instead i pointed my browser to the associated server ip 82.221.160.160:8083 and i successfully logged in to the vesta admin panel.
When i looked into the ip section of vesta i was confused.

Questions.
1. How do i setup external ip for my website so it can resolve to internet?
2. When adding new ip what fields should i type in, is it ok with only ip address and netmask?
3. How do i use the field NAT/IP Association? And when do i need it?

Picture can be found here -----> https://flic.kr/p/r4f2Lt

On another server within the same network i use Webmin and i have no issues resolving to the internet.

Help appreciated.

I met the same problem today when I installing VestaCP on Virtualbox virtual server.

My internal IP for the Virtualbox machine is 192.168.0.33, my external IP is 42.89.23.83, but after VestaCP installation completed, it told me to login at:
https://42.89.19.113:8083
This is very weird!

And I tried this link, it can not work at all!

How to let VestaCP correctly use my internal IP address 192.168.0.33 ?

Thank you.

Ok, I tried all those tutorials on this forum about "change server IP", but still could not open the VestaCP web interface GUI on my browser.

Finally, I found this article:

http://tutorialspots.com/vestacp-how-to ... -2505.html

Then I checked the folder "/etc/httpd/conf.d/" and noticed that there is already a file named: 192.168.0.33.conf , but its content is:
Listen 192.168.0.33:8080
Listen 192.168.0.33:8443
Then I added two lines, just as mentioned in that article, make this file content to:
NameVirtualHost 192.168.0.33:8080
Listen 192.168.0.33:8080
NameVirtualHost 192.168.0.33:8443
Listen 192.168.0.33:8443
Next, I restarted my Apache by:

Code: Select all

# systemctl restart httpd
Now I can open VestaCP GUI with https://192.168.0.33:8083 .

That is great!
