Is the .htaccess used if I enable Nginx in the Control Panel

I wanted to know of the common .htaccess that is present in my Drupal site's root is in use when I enable Nginx in Vesta's Control Panel for this specific domain name?

htaccess - it's webserver apache2 and only apache2 thing.
If you use nginx + apache, then htaccess will work too,
if nginx + php-fpm without apache2, nope.
