How NameServer Works

Hi,

Sorry to ask such a silly question but I like to know, how can I use my own NameServer in my domain. I rename ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com on VestaCP but how to use my nameserver on my site?

I like to understand how my domain registrar will find my server IP address if I will enter my custom nameservers in my domain registrar panel.

Currently I am using cloudns.net as a DNS with my normal LAMP server. Can anyone please help me to understand the flow?
