it is the "user feedback" which makes a product succeed
nginx+php-fpm - will be soon
apc - we don't recommended
varnish - you can install yourself
mariadb - will be in the CentOS 7

great ! looking forward to hear about the commercial version of vesta. I am willing to pay for it, when it supports nginx with php fpm.

Because I don't want to stuck into apache (I got rid of it) and because roadmap dates are usually dismissed and because almost no F given by vesta developers.

Now I have a perfect system with nginx+php-fpm+apc+varnish+mariadb

I accomplished everything, speed - security - reliability - compatibility

I hope someday vesta completely gets rid of apache.
most scripts relies on apache

apache fcgid is faster than php-fpm (I've read this somewhere with benchmarks go search google)

apc is obsolete... zend opcache (is the new thing) that is built in with php5.5 (that's what they say but I installed mine separately)

no point in using varnish when you already have opcache and nginx your just wasting server resources adding varnish

if your script supports memcache then its even better

and compatibility ..depends on the script your using.. not many people knows how to convert .htaccess rewrites to nginx .. and some scripts relies heavily on htaccess which apache can only provide

@cagatay

If youre able to set it up this way and have it run stable without quirks and security issues, youre better off.

I am not, so I use vesta. Am just getting into it deeper (using for a year now), and for me it seems perfect.

But your setup sounds radically fast... ;-)

apache serves php and .htaccess (most cms site like wordpress needs it for rewrite) and if you throw in a php opcode cache like zend opcache or xcache it should serve php even faster

nginx + apache with php opcache = performance and server resource efficiency

I have a website in a $5 vps running vesta cp that servers millions of requests per month with minimal server resource usage.. I can fit in at least 5 more websites that has the same traffic with no problem because of this setup.

vesta is made for speed .. thats what I like about it..

if you would like to know more about these setups i suggest you start searching in google for more in depths explanation
Hello; how can i get opcache on centos 7?

So, here is an alternative web server, OpenLiteSpeed.

It is highly compatible with Apache, and it runs as fast as Nginx and consumes low resources that Apache could not follow up. In terms of efficiency, it's a natural competitor against Nginx.

For php, those who have to stick to Apache can resort to OpenLiteSpeed, and for resources consumption, Nginx users may consider OpenLiteSpeed.

It even has its own admin panel, accessible from web.
