1 VestaCP installation, 2 IP?
  • Quote

Post by cyclone200 » Sun Jul 15, 2018 3:13 pm

Hello,

I have one VestaCP installation on my VPS, hosting website1.

I'd like to host a second website (website2) (a very very light one) on this VPS but I'd like to:

- send website1 mails using default IP
- send website2 mails using an additional IP (I've already buy this additional IP and it is associated with my VPS).

So, in a single VestaCP installation, I'd like to send mail from first site with IP1 and send mail from second site with IP2.

Is that possible?

EDIT : Question 2: If it is possible, it is possible to have two webmails? For example mail.website1.com and mail.website2.com ?

Thank you very much!

Hi,

Meanwhile, I have found a solution (don't know if it is THE solution).

1. You have to add the secondary IP from your VPS to VestaCP (top line in the interface).
2 .Point your domain registrar (eng. GoDaddy or other) to that secondary IP address under domain configuration;
3. Make all the configurations in the WEB and DOMAIN menus on VestaCP (review them at minimum);
4. Create the emails;
5. Use the credentials (user = youremail; password = youpassarod; server = yourdomain.com).

This worked fine just fine me.
Also, make sure you have the latest version of VestaCP (or else "server" will not show in login window).

At the moment I have 3 domains on top of the same VPS!

Let me know if this is enough information for your.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your message!

I also have 3 sites on my VPS/VestaCP but my question was more about the mailing system.

Have you achieved the following:

When you send a mail with mail@site1, it is from IP1 and when you send a mail with mail@site2, it is from IP2?

Thank you again

Hi,

You are welcome.
Yes, I did.

It is precisely as your say:
When I send an email from [email protected] (associated with IP1) to [email protected] (associated with IP2), the message is delivered.

Best regards,
/LE

as engrossa described when you configure 2 domains on 2 different ip's each domain will use their own assigned ip's to send out emails.
Well if you are planning to send emails via SMTP for marketing then i would suggest to get more then 2 ip's for domains. so all you guys have to do is configure your VPS with as many ip's as you want and when 1 ip get's banned via spam detectors just go to vestacp admincp and change domain ip. but if you cannot afford to change your domain ip's then go for premium DNS services with proxy or use cloudflare to save your ip's but still domains can also be flagged as spam so when domains get banned as spam there is nothing you can do just without changing the domain.

Vesta does not do this by default.

The mail server can send mail out for 1000s of domains, but it only sends from the main IP (per default configuration).

I had read this was supposed to be added to Vesta, but it isn't on the roadmap.

I have it working (manual configuration) except SSL for each IP.

Hmmmm.....

Hi,

Indeed, I tested it :

1) domain1 associated with IP1
2) domain2 associated with IP2

When I send mails from two domains, it's only from the IP1.

Somebody have an idea on how to make this working?
