Helo settings from desktop client

Post by verus001 » Wed Feb 06, 2019 11:15 am

Hi,
I am new to Vesta and I have some questions.

1) My mail config is ok, when I send e-mail from roundcube then the correct helo is used.
Received: from localhost ([127.0.0.1] helo=gobobby.be) by gobobby.be with esmtp (Exim 4.91) (envelope-from .......

When I send e-mail from my e-mail desktop client, then other information is used:
Received: from [109.128.120.130] (helo=[192.168.1.17]) by gobobby.be with esmtpsa ........

Is this normal? Should I not have helo=gobobby.be for my desktop client too ?

2) When I configured the desktop e-mail client then I received an error about the certificate.

The hostname doesn't match the name in the certificate.
Certificate information is the ip address of the server with some info from VESTA.

I do have an official certificate, can I use that for the server too or what do I have to do to correct this?
Thanks.
V.

Hi,
in your Vestacp administration go to "Webs" and edit "gobobby.be"
You can use your own certificate or generate one with Letsencrypt. If you use your own certificate you must be sure that the domain for witch it was issued is "gobobby.be" and not another one.
You should also go to "Emails" and edit the email adress you are having issue and check on the right hand if the domain IMAP / SMTP is "gobobby.be" or its"subdomain.gobobby.be" or its a completly diferent domain.
Also when connecting your email account to another app like "Gmail" for example you normaly should use "TLS" not "SSL" and in some cases change the port.

Hope it helps.
