iptables not found

I thought the service 'iptables' was running but apparently it's not, it stays stuck on 0min uptime.
The command 'service iptables status' or 'service iptable status' says the service is dead.

● iptables.service
   Loaded: not-found (Reason: No such file or directory)
   Active: inactive (dead)

I found this out later:
iptable.service and iptables.service isn't found.

Failed to start iptables.service: Unity iptables.service not found.

(I also tried to reinstall iptables but that also doesn't work)
